We invite you to attend and participate in a creating a prayer alcove in this Year’s Prayer Vigil.

Unity was founded on the power or prayer. For seventeen years the second Thursday of September has been dedicated to using our power of prayer to raise awareness, support each other in our needs in life, and hold a vision for peace in our lifetime. Ten years ago we were ready with 24 hours of prayers in the immediate aftermath of September 11th. Unity of Gainesville celebrated our first World Day of Prayer at Unity North as we awaited the completion of our church building. Soldiers came to the event to ‘pray up’ prior to reporting for duty. This year is the 10th anniversary of that fateful day. The world is turning a new page in it’s history. Let this be a time to move forward to create a world for people of faith that is filled with compassion, understanding and a sense of sharing of the Oneness of our experience with God by whatever name you use for God. We have 20 alcoves for prayer on September 8th.

If you or your group have a vision that you would like to support in prayer consider creating an alcove. Registration for alcoves is available by calling Unity of Gainesville Church at 770-534-0949. If you’d like to have your spiritual group create an alcove, please speak to Rev. Sydney Magill-Lindquist.
