Is Unity a Cult?
Unity has no dogmatic statement of faith with which it asks its followers to agree. In fact you will find a great diversity of belief when you come to a Unity church.
Is Unity a Christian Church?
Unity is the practical application in everyday life of the teachings of Jesus. The Bible is the foundation of our teachings yet we find great common truths shared by all faiths.
Does Unity believe in the Resurrection?
Unity does not see the Resurrection as the basis of our faith. We look at the life of Jesus for our inspiration and example.
Does Unity believe Jesus is the Son of God and Messiah?
Unity teaches that the spirit of God dwelt in Jesus, just as it indwells in every person; and that each of us has the potential to express the perfection of Christ, just as Jesus did.
Does Unity believe in Heaven and Hell?
Unity views heaven and hell as our closeness or distance from realizing our connection with God.
Does Unity believe in the Devil?
No, Unity affirms "There is only one power and one presence in the universe, God the good, omnipotent". Anything other than this one power and presence comes from within our minds.
Does Unity believe in Original Sin?
Unity believes in Original Blessing.
Does Unity believe in Baptism and Communion?
Unity has few rituals however we celebrate both symbolically as reminders of our connection with God.
Is Unity connected to the Unitarian Church?
No, there is no connection though the names sound similar.
